Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. Jesus' Response to Peter's Action: (a) Jesus said: “Permit even this.” ( Luke 22:51, KJV: “Suffer ye thus far”; RSV: “No more of this” ) The Greek words clarify this: “ἕως τούτου” (“heōs toutou”) = “up to this point” or “even this” “ἐᾶτε” (“eate”) = “allow it,” “let it be,” “leave it alone” Therefore, Jesus is essentially saying: “Let them do what they are doing. 불쌍히 여겨 주어야 합니다.  예수님을 믿지 않을 때에 모르고 한 짓을 하나님께서 우리를 불쌍히 여겨 주셨듯이 우리도 상대방이 예수님을 믿지 않을 때에 모르고 한 짓을   불쌍히 여겨 주어야 합니다 ( 디모데전서 1:13, 현대인의 성경 ).

감사할 수 밖에 없습니다.

감사할 수 밖에 없습니다.  " 내가 전에는 비방자요 박해자요 폭행자 " 로서 ( 딤전 1:13)  " 죄인 중에 내가 괴수 " 인데 (15 절 )  " 나를 충성되이 여겨 내게 직분을 맡기 " 셨으니  " 나를 능하게 하신 그리스도 예수 우리 주께  내가 감사 " 할 수 밖에 없습니다 (12 절 ).
