For some of us, it’s been a while. In our hard-working, highly productive culture, we can sometimes feel like exhausted swimmers swept downstream in a fast-moving river, fighting to keep our heads above water, gasping for air. We get up early and stay up late. We never waste a minute. Our schedule is full, running here, running there, running late, running to catch up, running on empty, until we collapse in utter exhaustion. Underneath the satisfaction of being hard-working, hard-playing people is a weariness that’s desperate for the pace to relent so we can rest and recharge. Deep down, we’re dying to slow down and take a break. We keep telling ours...
야곱은 어떠한 생각과 마음으로 그리했던 것일까요 ? 어머니 리브가가 자신을 속이는 자가 되게 하여 아버지 이삭으로부터 축복은 커녕 오히려 저주를 받을지로 모를 것 같아 두려운데 어머니가 대신 저주까지 받겠다고 하시면서 형 에서의 제일 좋은 옷까지 가지고 오셔서 나에게 입히고 별미까지 만들어 주셔서 아버지 야곱의 손에 들려주는 아들 야곱은 어떠한 생각과 마음으로 그리했던 것일까요 ? 그 정도로 어머님의 ( 무모한 ) 사랑에 못이겨서 그리했을까요 ? 아니면 그 정도로 야곱은 형 에서와 경쟁에서 이기고 싶었을까요 ? 그 정도로 야곱은 아버지 이삭의 축복을 형 대신 자기가 받고 싶었던 것일까요 ? 어떻게 야곱은 아버지 이삭이 " 얘야 , 네가 어떻게 그처럼 빨리 잡아왔느냐 ?" 고 물으셨을 때 " 아버지의 하나님 여호와께서 나를 도와 주셨기 때문에 사냥감을 빨리 찾을 수가 있었습니다 " 라고까지 거짓말을 할 수 있었을까요 ? " 아버지의 하나님 여호와 " 라고 까지 말하면서 말입니다 ( 창세기 27:12-20, 현대인의 성경 ).
