Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 뇌물을 요구하고 사리 사욕을 채우는 정치인과 함께 식사하게 될 때   가난한 사람을 학대하며 뇌물을 요구하고 사리 사욕을 채우는 정치인과 함께 식사하게 될 때 우리 앞에 앉은 자가 누구인지 주시해야 합니다 .   그가 베푼 것이 진수 성찬이라도 탐하지 말아야 합니다 .   아무리 입맛이 당겨도 절제해야 합니다 .   그 이유는 그 진수성찬이 우리를 속이는 미끼가 될 수도 있기 때문입니다 ( 잠언 23:1-3, 28:3; 미가 7:3, 현대인의 성경 ).
