인간의 이성으로는 이해가 안 되는 역행하는 행동? 송아지를 잡아 각을 떠서 나무 위에 올려 놓고 기도해서 불을 내려 응답하는 신이 바로 그가 하나님이요 라고 말한 엘리야 선지자는 물 네 주전자를 가져다가 번제물과 나무 위에 세 번이나 물을 갖다 붓게 했습니다 . 그 결과 물이 단에 넘쳐 흐르고 도랑에도 가득했습니다 ( 열왕기상 18:24, 33-35, 현대인의 성경 ). 이것은 나무나 송아지로 하여금 불타게 하는 데 역행하는 행동입니다 . 이것은 인간의 이성으로는 이해가 되지 않는 행동입니다 . 우리가 하나님을 전적으로 신뢰함으로 하나님의 말씀 ( 뜻 ) 에 순종하는 행동은 사람들 보기에 이성으로 이해가 안될 수도 있는 역행하는 행동일 수가 있습니다 .
