For some of us, it’s been a while. In our hard-working, highly productive culture, we can sometimes feel like exhausted swimmers swept downstream in a fast-moving river, fighting to keep our heads above water, gasping for air. We get up early and stay up late. We never waste a minute. Our schedule is full, running here, running there, running late, running to catch up, running on empty, until we collapse in utter exhaustion. Underneath the satisfaction of being hard-working, hard-playing people is a weariness that’s desperate for the pace to relent so we can rest and recharge. Deep down, we’re dying to slow down and take a break. We keep telling ours...
마치 에덴동산 같아 보일지라도 ... 아무리 우리 눈으로 보기에 그곳이 넉넉하고 풍족해 보이되 마치 에덴동산 같아 보일지라도 ( 창세기 13:10) 그 곳에 거하는 사람들이 하나님 앞에 큰 죄인들이라면 (13 절 ) 우리는 그 곳은 에덴동산이 아니라 소돔과 고모라임을 명심해야 합니다 (10 절 ). 만일 우리가 우리의 명철을 의지하여 ( 잠언 3:5) 소돔과 고모라와 같은 곳을 선택한다면 컽으로는 편안하고 풍족하게 살지는 모르겠지만 우리의 의로운 심령은 상할 것입니다 ( 베드로후서 2:8).
